GemAlgo Review
A research review of GemAlgo’s Orion trading system: performance evidence, live versus backtested results, risk controls, broker requirements and refund terms.
GemAlgo markets automated trading software that connects to a customer’s brokerage account. Orion, its best-documented system, is described as a long-only U.S. stock strategy. Public strategy pages, terms, dashboards and mobile apps provide material to examine.
The main questions concern Orion’s differently labeled performance histories, the 2% and 4% published trade-risk limits, and the conditions attached to its satisfaction guarantee. The available material does not establish independently audited or typical customer returns.
Trading can result in substantial losses. Historical returns and drawdowns do not establish a customer’s future performance or maximum loss.
What is GemAlgo?
GemAlgo is trading software offered by GemAlgo LLC. Its core Orion system is described as automatically buying and selling U.S. stocks inside the customer’s own brokerage account.
This GemAlgo review examines the published strategy, performance records, account controls and customer terms. The terms identify Orion as the core equities offering; the disclosures also describe futures and forex strategies with different risks.
The clearest documented features are the provider’s long-only stock specification, broker-account operating model and written refund conditions. The largest evidence gaps concern the live-versus-modeled performance split, production settings and results across customers.
This is a public-source research review. ATI did not operate a funded GemAlgo account, inspect its source code or audit its customers. Read the method and evidence labels alongside the findings.
GemAlgo Orion, Apollo and NikolAI
Orion is the best-documented core offering. A shared provider name does not establish common instruments, risk settings or customer availability across the other systems.
Orion's exclusions—no short selling, leverage, options, ETFs, futures or derivatives—apply to Orion. They should not be generalized to Apollo or NikolAI, which sit in different asset classes and may use different infrastructure and risk. Orion specification · Other named systems · Asset-class disclosures.
How GemAlgo’s Orion trading system works
This flow is drawn from provider descriptions, not an independent technical examination.
Cash and positions remain in an account owned by the customer.
GemAlgo describes trade-execution access without withdrawal authority.
The system screens a large U.S.-equity universe and evaluates stock and market factors.
Orders, stops, sizing and exits are intended to be managed automatically.
The About page says customers choose and can change allocation and risk; the onboarding description says GemAlgo handles configuration. Assisted setup and later customer control could coexist. The reviewed material does not map initial setup, ongoing changes and override permissions in enough detail to resolve this.
Orion’s trading strategy and AI claims
Current strategy and disclosure pages describe Orion as unleveraged and share-based, excluding shorts and derivatives. Published specification · Strategy boundaries.
GemAlgo says Orion screens more than 3,000 U.S. equities daily using liquidity, volume and fundamental-quality criteria. Screening description.
The public narrative refers to 158 stock factors and 64 market indicators, but no architecture or benchmark substantiates the throughput claim. Factor and throughput claims.
GemAlgo describes machine learning that identifies institutional trading patterns. The reviewed sources do not supply feature definitions, training data, validation results or model-governance documentation. Provider’s AI description.
GemAlgo describes five market regimes and changes to selectivity, size and exposure. Thresholds and implementation are not public. Regime description.
The reviewed sources do not provide a reproducible entry/exit specification or detailed order-handling procedures.
GemAlgo performance: Orion’s published results
These figures reproduce the core Orion page in the September 2 research. The page explicitly labels CAGR as backtested and hypothetical, and its strategy material describes drawdown using backtested and simulated history. Broader disclosures allow several record types; a trade-by-trade live/model split has not been established. These are not verified customer returns.
What the page establishes
- A detailed Orion performance page is publicly accessible.
- The presented history starts in February 2020.
- Monthly, annual and trade-summary statistics are published.
- Backtested, hypothetical and simulated labels appear in the source material.
- The provider discloses common modeling and execution limitations.
Important limitations
- No independent audit report was identified in the reviewed sources.
- The live-versus-modeled split is not defined.
- Raw trade data has not been reconciled to broker statements.
- Strategy versions and retrospective changes are not mapped.
- Different official pages publish different figures and record descriptions.
The core page’s headline figures and labels were rechecked on 15 September 2026; the table remains the dated research snapshot. Compare the separate source records before interpreting returns. ATI’s guide to backtests versus live results explains why the distinction matters.
Is Orion’s performance live or backtested?
Values captured on different pages should not be averaged or combined.
| Source | Published metrics | Evidence description |
|---|---|---|
| Core performance page | 1,098.93% total return; 50.71% CAGR; 9.17% drawdown; 3,861 trades. | CAGR is explicitly labeled backtested and hypothetical; the material also uses simulated-history labels. Live/model allocation is unresolved. |
| Alternate Orion page | 1,221.63% total return; 48.66% CAGR; 9.16% drawdown; 3,924 trades. | Describes the curve as actual live brokerage activity, while its footer also allows live, historical, backtested, hypothetical or simulated examples. |
| GemAlgo Trade | Orion start February 2020; values differ from both pages above. | Provider-associated multi-strategy page; record type is not reconciled. |
| MarketLogs | Orion and Apollo views for instruments, returns and trades were documented in the research. A September 15 dashboard refresh was not obtained. | A public dashboard was documented at capture. Its operator, independent verification and data controls were not established. |
The source labels create an unresolved evidence problem. Different endpoints or trade counts could explain some numerical differences; they do not explain which periods are live. No reviewed document maps the curves to named broker accounts, dates and strategy versions. Core-page labels · Alternate-page claims.
What does the MarketLogs dashboard verify?
The September 2 research documented public Orion and Apollo views on MarketLogs, with an indicated update through 21 August 2026. A current dashboard refresh was not obtained for this revision.
The founder’s FAQ describes third-party verification. The reviewed material did not identify an auditor, verification report, broker reconciliation or documented data-ingestion and revision controls for marketlogs.io.
A public dashboard makes reported information available for examination. Establishing its independence requires more: operator identity, account ownership, data provenance, verification scope and a way to detect later history changes. Those points remain unresolved here.
The dashboard’s documented existence is partially established evidence. It does not by itself establish an independently audited strategy or representative customer results.
NikolAI on FX Blue: a separate forex record
September 2 research snapshot; page update recorded as 19 March 2026. This separate forex account has unconfirmed official attribution.
Unreconciled account fields: the captured balance and equity differ by USD 4,422.83. The research separately records open P/L of −USD 8,422.83, which does not equal that difference. Credit or other adjustments were not established, so the fields cannot be presented as a reconciled account statement. Balance drawdown and the reported equity-valley measure also have different definitions.
The captured page reported its last update as 19 March 2026. Current statistics could not be reconfirmed from the accessible FX Blue page in this pass. Broker, server, leverage, current connection, account owner and verification-badge state remain unconfirmed. The username suggests a NikolAI association, but the reviewed official pages did not link this exact account. Account page · Statistics · Risk fields.
Do GemAlgo customers match the published results?
GemAlgo’s disclosure says its published performance examples do not represent the actual results of an individual client account. Performance disclosure.
Provider pages and testimonials describe customer experiences, but no randomly selected cohort, complete account distribution or comparable-settings dataset was identified.
The public record does not establish funded-customer count, full-year survivor count, median return, dispersion, attrition, open equity, account parity or the share of customers using showcase settings.
Different start dates, account balances, broker execution, fractional-share support, cash flows, allocation settings, downtime and manual intervention can change customer results. A comparable outcome study would need to account for those differences and applicable costs.
GemAlgo risk controls and Orion drawdown
Provider-supplied risk rules have not been independently tested against production trades.
The core strategy page describes 4% account-equity risk per trade, while the alternate Orion page describes 2%. The core formula uses entry-to-stop distance; it does not mean a 4% allocation to a stock. A stop can fill beyond its trigger in a gap or illiquid market. The core page’s separate overnight-gap example needs additional exposure assumptions to reconcile with its risk formula.
The published 9.17% drawdown is a historical figure from the described record, not a promised future ceiling. Circuit-breaker thresholds, portfolio concentration limits and behavior during gaps remain unverified. See how maximum drawdown is measured and the provider’s risk disclosures.
Backtesting methods and evidence gaps
GemAlgo's disclosures acknowledge hindsight, slippage, commissions, financing, liquidity and execution as limitations of hypothetical and backtested results. Modeling limitations.
The reviewed material does not identify a reproducible trade file, source-data vendor, corporate-action or delisting treatment, universe reconstruction, transaction-cost model or slippage assumptions.
Training/test separation, walk-forward validation, parameter-selection history and independent replication were also not established. Missing public documentation does not show that these methods were never used; it limits external evaluation.
It is not public which Orion periods were live, which were modeled, which production version generated them, or how later strategy changes were applied to past results.
GemAlgo setup and account requirements
GemAlgo describes a private setup session, broker API connection and guided configuration.
* The core page advertises a setup session under 30 minutes; alternate onboarding gives 24–72 hours for activation. Those may describe different stages. No reviewed checklist establishes a guaranteed completion time, exact API authorization or go-live acceptance process.
The alternate Orion page addresses investors with USD 25,000 or more to allocate. Separately, the written refund policy requires at least USD 10,000 in trading capital. These are different conditions; neither amount is the software’s price. Confirm the applicable system and account requirement in the enrollment documents. Marketing eligibility · Refund conditions.
The terms mention VPS uptime in refund exclusions. That reference does not establish that every Orion customer must run a VPS; hosting, device dependency and responsibility for uptime need system-specific confirmation.
GemAlgo refund policy and cancellation terms
Summary only. Current terms and the signed enrollment agreement control.
The use period starts on the enrollment date. Requests must follow twelve consecutive compliant months and arrive in the next seven calendar days.
Conditions include continuous connection, at least two trades per calendar month, no setting/risk overrides, approved broker/API use, at least USD 10,000 in trading capital throughout, updates within five business days and complete brokerage statements.
An eligible refund is the initial license fee minus realized net profits for the period. No refund is due when those profits reach the fee.
Third-party outages, force majeure, market halts, regulatory action and client failures involving API, VPS or capital can exclude eligibility.
The alternate marketing site advertises a one-year promise using “no questions asked” wording. Section 11 of the terms imposes the conditions summarized here. Obtain clarification of the agreement that applies to the enrollment.
The terms reserve suspension and termination rights, with the license ending immediately. The reviewed material does not explain a complete cancellation or open-trade handoff process.
The terms direct requests with supporting statements to support@gemalgo.com and state that approved refunds are processed within 30 days of verification. This is a conditional license-fee remedy, not protection for brokerage losses. Read the current terms and the signed enrollment agreement together; this review does not determine enforceability.
Outages, open trades and stopping the system
Current documents acknowledge market, software, connectivity, API, liquidity, broker, exchange and data failures. Service limitations · Technology and market risks.
Order state
Duplicate-order prevention, partial fills, rejections, stale sessions and broker-position reconciliation are not documented.
Market events
Gap-through-stop, halts, auctions, corporate actions, incorrect splits/dividends and after-hours handling are not explained.
Service loss
Open-position treatment after outage, API expiry, suspension, termination or service shutdown is not public.
Incident response
No public safe-state, customer notification, rollback, recovery objective or tested continuity plan was identified.
Supported brokers, mobile apps and infrastructure
The terms name Interactive Brokers as an integration example. Other provider pages display a wider broker list, while the Apple app’s version history mentions Interactive Brokers and Alpaca functionality.
Logos, release notes and provider references do not prove endorsement or every strategy’s compatibility. The disclosures distinguish ordinary integrations from formal affiliations and say availability depends on broker, jurisdiction and account type.
The reviewed sources do not provide a complete broker-by-system matrix covering account types, jurisdictions, fractional shares, derivatives, leverage and platform dependencies. A broker shown for Orion should not automatically be treated as an Apollo or NikolAI option.
The Apple listing describes an assistant and disclaims execution on the user’s behalf. The Google Play listing mentions trade execution, as do the web product pages. These may refer to different app and backend functions. The reviewed material does not establish where orders are generated, authorized and sent.
Who operates GemAlgo?
The terms identify GemAlgo LLC as the contracting entity. The About page names Sean Beaman as founder and chief executive.
* The September 2 research records Jadina Anjos as co-founder on the founder’s website; it does not establish her formal office or ownership. The California filing date comes from a secondary filing mirror, not an independently retrieved state filing. Primary formation details and ownership were not established in this review.
The provider describes quantitative, AI and risk teams and a founder business history. Those descriptions do not independently verify trading expertise or performance. Legal-mail and operating addresses can serve different purposes, and corporate filing dates do not establish when a strategy began trading.
Company disclosures and financial regulation
GemAlgo describes itself as a software provider and says it is not an investment adviser, broker-dealer or registered intermediary. These are its contractual statements and public disclosures.
The provider also says it does not give personalized advice or take custody of customer assets. The review did not conduct a complete, current financial-registration or enforcement audit.
A company registration, broker integration and financial-services authorization establish different things. The reviewed material does not determine the regulatory classification of the actual equities, futures or forex service.
The posted terms specify a 60-day informal dispute process, confidential AAA arbitration, individual proceedings, a one-year claim period, Wyoming law and a 30-day arbitration opt-out. This summarizes the written clauses; it is not a ruling on legal rights or enforceability. Dispute provisions.
Broker API access, privacy and security
GemAlgo's policy describes collection of contact, financial-eligibility, communications, IP, browser, device, activity and referral information. Data collection policy.
The policy says personal information is not sold, rented or traded and describes transmission encryption, access controls and secure storage. App-store privacy disclosures are supplied by the developer. Neither is an independent security assessment. Privacy policy · App privacy disclosure.
The reviewed material does not establish API-token storage, exact permission scopes, staff access, audit logs, subprocessors, independent control testing or a complete data-retention schedule. General retention language is published; specific retention periods are not established here.
No verified data-flow map was available to connect brokerage information, positions, mobile telemetry and model inputs. Confirm the actual broker authorization screen and credential-revocation procedure for the intended setup.

How this GemAlgo review was prepared
ATI compared the supplied research dossiers with the original profile and selected public sources. The performance snapshot is dated 2 September 2026; selected source wording was checked again on 15 September 2026.
The recheck covered core strategy and performance pages, terms, disclosures, privacy, About, alternate marketing, app listings and the Trustpilot profile. It did not produce a fresh MarketLogs dashboard or usable current FX Blue statistics. Corporate mirror details and founder-site observations retain the September 2 research basis.
ATI did not trade a funded account, inspect private contracts or code, test API permissions, reproduce the backtest or conduct an independent financial audit. The review distinguishes a documented statement from proof that the stated behavior occurs in production.
- Established: the identified document or fact is supported by the reviewed record; a published specification is not a verified trading result.
- Partially established: some supporting evidence exists, with material limits.
- Provider claim: a statement attributed to GemAlgo without independent validation here.
- Not established: the reviewed sources do not substantiate the point.
- Conflicting information: source statements differ and the material reviewed does not reconcile them.
Missing public evidence is not proof of misconduct. Customer allegations and provider replies are attributed separately. Read ATI’s research methodology and publication disclosure.
